Developing Hispanic Leaders Gala Night is the largest gathering of Hispanic leaders in the fields of business, education, government, and community in the Central Valley. Through this event, the FAHF has awarded over $285,000 in “Tomorrows Entrepreneurship Scholarship” ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each. These scholarships support students pursuing a higher education and provide encouragement for them to obtain a college degree. Most of the students awarded are first generation in their family to attend a University and graduate. We also recognize a local business with the “Business of the Year Award”, and a corporation with the “Corporation of the Year” award, recognizing their achievements and involvement in the community. Attendance includes an average of 800 guests.

Since 2002, The Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation, in partnership with the Holy Cross Center for Women, has hosted an annual “Lend A Hand” Christmas event. Since 1984, the Saint Agnes Holy Cross Center for Women in downtown Fresno has served as a refuge for homeless and underserved women and their children, including women who have been victims of domestic violence, from Fresno County and surrounding areas.
Approximately 900 low income women and children are invited to be our guests for this special event. With the help of many volunteers and contributors, we serve dinner to these families in need. In addition, we obtain donations of toys and bicycles that are distributed to the children in attendance. For most of these children, it becomes their only Christmas present due to family financial hardships.
From 2002-2004, this event began with hosting 250 guests from the Holy Cross Center for Women, from 2005-2009 it increased to approximately 400-600 guests through 2012, and most recently to 950 women and children in 2016.
For 2017, our goal is to expand our outreach to 1,000 women and children from the Holy Cross Center for Women.

This conference will bring together business and professional women, especially Latinas, from the Central Valley to support and empower women. The focus is to highlight women who need the right resources and tools to thrive in their business, who inspire other women, and who are leaders in their communities. In addition, a platform of empowerment will be provided in which women can share information on areas of expertise such as professional and personal development. Women who have been successful in their professional and business careers will be advising and sharing their success stories as a tool of encouragement. Additional activities will include highlighting the value that the Latina woman brings to society, both from the social, family, cultural and occupational or professional aspect. The conference will also serve as a support network for women to share best practices and experiences with other women, as well as finding opportunities to further develop their skills or careers.
